What First-Time Shooters Should Know

If you’ve never been to a shooting range before, your first visit can feel a little intimidating—but it doesn’t have to be. At Stone Hart’s Gun Club & Indoor Range in Miami, first-time shooters are welcomed into a clean, professional environment where safety, instruction, and customer service come first.

When you arrive, our friendly staff will walk you through the process, including signing a range waiver, reviewing basic safety rules, and selecting the right lane, firearm, and ammunition if you plan to rent. Eye and ear protection are required and available at the range, and our range officers are always nearby to help answer questions or assist if needed.

Whether you’re completely new to firearms or simply visiting a range for the first time, our goal is to make your experience safe, comfortable, and enjoyable while helping you build confidence and proper shooting habits.

Rapid Fire and Holster Draw Qualifications

Stone Hart’s Gun Club & Indoor Range allows qualified shooters to practice controlled rapid fire and holster draws using approved holsters. For safety reasons, shooters must first complete a qualification evaluation conducted by our range officers.

Two qualification levels are available:

Red/Green Code – Rapid Fire Only
Allows shooters to practice controlled rapid fire.

Green Code – Rapid Fire and Holster Draw
Allows shooters to perform both controlled rapid fire and holster draws from approved holsters.

The evaluation is only required once.

Evaluation Fees:
$10 – Red/Green Code (Rapid Fire Only)
$15 – Green Code (Rapid Fire and Holster Draw)

Evaluation checklists and qualification requirements are posted at the range. Please speak with one of our range officers if you are interested in completing the qualification process.
